Hey everyone! Thousands of roller coasters have been created for our contests, by hundreds of creators. For this contest, you will not get to create your own coaster. Rather, you must take someone else's coaster from a previous entry, place it in a new map, and decorate it! You will be rated on how well you decorate the coaster. You could add things like custom supports, a nice station, epic interaction moments, and anything else you can think of to improve the coaster. However, you are not allowed to re-use the scenery from the map which the original coaster was on. Your decoration has to be significantly different from the original map in order to qualify. Good luck!
You are allowed to make teams of up to four people in this round!
Rule 1: You must copy the exact layout of a roller coaster from one of the previous Ride Creation Contest entries, from a different player. You are not allowed to team up with this player. The layout must be exactly the same.
You are allowed to:
Change ride type of the track, or sections of track.
Make part of the ride invisible
Move the ride entrance / exit
Change vehicle type
Change vehicle / ride colours
Change everything in the ride settings / operating modes tabYou are NOT allowed to:
Change any of the ride track pieces.
Add boosters / brakes / chain lifts.
Merge tracks that change the behaviour of the coaster
Rule 2: You must place the coaster on a new map. You are not allowed to re-use the scenery from the map the coaster was originally on. The decoration has to be significantly different from the original map the coaster was on.
Rule 3: The deadline for this contest will be on the 26th of April 2026 at 19:00 CEST!
Rule 4: For this contest, you are only allowed to use objects from the RCT1 and RCT2 base game and their official expansions, OpenRCT2-official objects, and custom objects that are included in the DKSO v3.1 bench. Custom objects that are not in the DKSO v3.1 bench are not allowed, so make sure you don't use those. You are also allowed to use a custom palette if you want.
Rule 5: There is no maximum map size for this round. Using the map size of the original park is recommended.
Rule 6: In your story you MUST mention the original creator of the layout and the Ride Creation Contest in which it was made.
Rule 7: Have fun!
