Git Gud 087 - Making a realistic log flume!

Hey everyone!

Log flumes are rides that can be found in almost every theme park! Riders sit in a small log shaped boat and travel through a layout that usually has 2 or 3 drops, with the last drop usually being a bigger one that ends in a big splash. Sometimes there are turnaround sections in the track as well, so boats do part of the track backwards. With the default track pieces you will be able to make a nice layout, but I always like to get a little bit more creative with them.

I often merge in a dinghy slide track or splash boats track at the end to make a final drop that's more steep. I also often like to stack two reverser track pieces on top of each other with one rotated 90 degrees, so the boats exit the rotating element at a 90 degree angle. Quite a few real log flumes also rotate their boats this way! You can also make your track look really nice by adding in extra track layers below the track, or by messing with the supports. The video below shows you how to make a nice realistic log flume!
