More and more rides come with a switch track somewhere in the layout, which allows the train to roll back somewhere along the track and follow a different part of the layout backwards! Eventually, there is then usually also a switch in the track which allows the train to travel forwards again, into the station! Switch tracks are quite easy to make in OpenRCT2 using merges, and they're a fun way to make a coaster that does some of the track backwards!
