Title Sequence Contest v0.4.6

Title Sequence Contest v0.4.6

Hey everyone!

With OpenRCT2 getting a new theme song, it's also time for a new title sequence! A title sequence is the parks you see in the background when you open the game. This time around, we will hold a little contest where everyone who participates can create a park specifically for this purpose!

Rules

You are allowed to team up with other people to make an entry for this contest!

  • Rule 1: You have to make a new park for a new title sequence. We are looking for certain scenes in the title sequence, so it's a good idea to have at least several of the following in your park:
    • A big park entrance area
    • An area with some gentle rides
    • A water ride
    • A new ride that was added in OpenRCT2, like the single rail, hybrid or alpine coaster.
    • Other areas that are fun to watch, like duelling coasters or other rides with lots of interaction.
  • Rule 2: The park should run without lag on most computers - so try to keep the number of guests / rides/ etc. reasonable.
  • Rule 3: The deadline for this contest will be on the 29th of June at 19:00 CEST!
  • Rule 4: For this contest you are only allowed to use Objects from the base RCT2 game, and OpenRCT2-official objects. You are not allowed to use objects from the Wacky Worlds or the Time Twister expansions because those will not show up for people who don't own these expansions. You are also not allowed to use custom objects or custom palettes. You are also not allowed to use RCT1 objects, like the classic wooden or looping coaster trains.
  • Rule 5: The background void should not be visible in the title sequence, so make sure to have a lot of space around your park. We recommend structuring your park like an RCT1 scenario, with the park in the center and lots of landscape around the park.
  • Rule 6: Make sure the park does not look glitchy both in OpenGL and in Software rendering mode.
  • Rule 7: Have fun!

How to join

  • Step 1: Join the OpenRCT2 Discord server. Here all updates for the contest will be announced.
  • Step 2: Build your map and decorate it!
  • Step 3: When you are done with your contest entry, go on Discord, and send the save file to Deurklink in a Private Message. For the name of the save file, I want you to simply use the name that you use on Discord. For example, if your discord name is Broxzier, for the save file name, use Broxzier.park. If you created the park as a team, include all team members in the save file name.
  • Step 4: After you have sent the save file to Deurklink, he will look if it follows the rules, and may point out things that could still be improved. You can resubmit your entry until the deadline of the round, even if it has already been accepted.
  • Step 5: After the deadline has passed, all entries will be included in a voting poll, where all discord members can rate all the entries.
  • Step 6: When the voting is over, the scores will be announced on a video on Deurklink's youtube channel!

After the scores have been announced, the OpenRCT2 team will use these parks to create a new title sequence for OpenRCT2 version 0.4.6! The OpenRCT2 team will have the final say which parks will be included in the title sequence.

Good luck, and have fun!
