VOLCANO ALERT
21 November 2024, Thursday.
The nearby Svartsengi volcano has opened a new fissure yesterday. An emergency lava dyke has been constructed in the days leading up. Jötumn's path veered too close to where the magma intrusions were detected, and could not be enclosed. The lava has since destroyed the ride, and has overflowed over the dyke, destroying the main parking lot. Contact your ensurance if your car is lost.

Main rides:

Arora:
The Goddess of the Aurora beckons you to come with her. Experience the Northern Lights in a way like never before. Weave left and right, as you dance in the sky like the very lights themselves. With a 65 meter drop, reaching 144km/h and a length of nearly 2.5km, this record breaking Intamin Giga Coaster will take you far from the park, making you to see it all.

Foss & Hraun:
A battle between lava forming new rocks, and water carving them away. Two RMC Raptor Coasters, twisting around each other in an endless fight of nature! Pick your side: Hraun (Lava), or Foss (Waterfall), and see who comes out on top this time!

Katla:
The mystical Katla is a notoriously dangerous sub-glacial volcano. Its heavy, black ashes periodically coat the surrounding glaciers, resulting in a white-black layered spectacle in the many ice caves surrounding mountain... but you never know when it might erupt again... Start in the glacial cave, and swing around wildly as you traverse the Arrow Suspended Coaster through its course!

Hekla:
Once thought to be the gate to hell itself, the volcano Hekla is every bit as ominous as Katla. Erupting without any warning, it's a danger to be reckoned with. The Vekoma Inverted Coaster is designed to look like the very mountain itself, with a snowy peak and green fields at the hill.. but be careful to not dip below the surface, or you might find the portal to hell being real after all...

Jokülhlaup:
Meaning "Glacial Flood". Smaller eruptions of subglacial volcanoes melt a lot of ice from underneath. Water, now reeking of sulphur, suddenly bursts from underneath the glacier washing away everything in its path; even sturdy bridges. This Mack Launched Watercoaster simulates this occurance, with sudden bursts of speed, then crashing into the lukewarm pools, with a big splash.

Jötunn:
Two giants live among the village, and then storm out the foodhall, off towards the mountains! This CCI wooden racing coaster crosses even the road! Closed for an undetermined amount of time.

Hesturinn:
The Icelandic Horse breed is a source of pride for the nation! Take your horse on a tour through several recreated areas, including the inland village Möðrudalur, the Laki Craters, and a Viking stronghold!

Halgoti:
The tale of Halgoti the troll comes alive. Go on an extensive dark ride through the former lava tube as the story unfolds with spectacular setpieces and special effects!

Fireworks:
Every Friday night at 10pm a stunning 5-minute display of (actually functional if you download the plugin) fireworks is held! Come and see the spectacle of colours!
