RCC82 - Wooden Coaster Contest 3! (March 2026)

Hey everyone! We're redoing a contest which we did several years ago, which is the Wooden Coaster Contest! Wooden coasters can be found in almost every larger parks, and they are some of the most iconic rides you can find in a theme park! They are often more rough than their steel counterparts, and they usually focus on airtime instead of inversions (although you can sometimes find those on newer wooden coasters). If you want to learn how to make a nice wooden coaster, find my wooden coaster episode from Tutorial park! It's also linked lower on this page!

Rules

You are allowed to make teams of up to two people in this round!

  • Rule 1: You have to create a wooden roller coaster. It must mostly consist of wooden coaster track, but you are allowed to splice in sections of other track.

  • Rule 2: You have to use one of the wooden coaster trains from RCT1, RCT2 or their official expansions.

  • Rule 3: The deadline for this contest will be on the 27th of March 2026 at 19:00 CET!

  • Rule 4: For this contest, you are only allowed to use objects from the RCT1 and RCT2 base game and their official expansions, OpenRCT2-official objects, and custom objects that are included in the DKSO v3.1 bench. Custom objects that are not in the DKSO v3.1 bench are not allowed, so make sure you don't use those. You are also allowed to use a custom palette if you want.

  • Rule 5: The maximum map size for this round is 3600 tiles. This number will be calculated by multiplying the size of the map edges. You could for example make a map that is 60 x 60 tiles, or 36 x 100 tiles.

  • Rule 6: There is no limit to the amount of opened rides you can have in the park.

  • Rule 7: Have fun!

How to join
  • Step 1: Join my Discord server. Discord is completely free!

  • Step 2: Build your map and decorate it!

  • Step 3: When you are done with your contest entry, go to my Discord, and use the /submitpark command in one of the channels, and follow the steps. Make sure our bot can DM you!

  • Step 4: If you want to update your story or save file, simply run the /submitpark command again, and follow the steps!

After the deadline has passed, I will put up a voting poll with all the entries. In this voting poll, everyone who is a member on my Discord, including you, will be able to rate all the other entries, and leave a short review.

When the voting period is over I will announce the results in a Youtube video!

Good luck, and have fun!
